KPS Global Walk-In Applications and Product Variety

Walk-in cooler and freezers are large, refrigerated spaces made to store products at a specific temperature. Temperature ranges vary based on intended use from -40°F to 175°F. KPS Global® provides custom walk-in coolers and freezers to fit unique customer needs. Walk-in coolers and freezers can be used in a variety of industries including convenience stores, retail, foodservice, like dairy, meat and seafood walk-ins along with scientific applications such as blood banks, vaccine storage and industrial uses including warehouses.

Traditional Walk-In Coolers and Freezers

Most walk-ins from KPS Global are constructed using polyurethane foam and cam lock technology. Cam locks allow for fast and easy assembly on-site. These walk-ins are available in three frame types:

These frame types offer varying levels of structural integrity and insulative capability, depending on each project’s needs. Walk-ins may also feature a variety of metal finishes, flooring options and other features such as doors and hinges, lighting, shelves, security features and more.

As the largest provider of custom walk-ins, KPS Global leads the industry in delivering tailored cold storage solutions. Our custom walk-ins are engineered to adapt seamlessly to the unique demands of each customer, offering flexibility in size, shape, and performance features. Whether you’re working with a tight layout, specific temperature ranges, or special industry compliance, our in-house team collaborates closely to design a solution that’s built to order for you.

With a variety of panel thicknesses, frame types, finishes, and integrated accessories available, every walk-in is tailored to meet operational needs while optimizing efficiency. This truly custom approach ensures that no two units are alike, giving businesses the ability to scale their cold storage with precision and confidence.

Insulated Metal Panels (IMPs)

IMPs are unique panels designed for large-scale cold storage projects. These panels are made up of two metal skins sandwiching a core made from either expanded polystyrene (EPS), polyurethane or mineral wool. Continuous Line Panels (CLP) from KPS Global are EPS insulated metal panels, which are the most cost-effective option and can span longer distances – up to 30 feet on ceilings without structural support. IMPs are also easier to field cut; ideal applications for CLP panels include food processing facilities, distribution warehouses, clean rooms and horticulture or grow rooms.

Outdoor Walk-In Coolers and Freezers

Outdoor walk-ins provide the ability to increase your cold storage. These walk-ins have additional design and construction considerations based on final site location. KPS Global has a dedicated in house engineering team that reviews designs to ensure that they meet local requirements for seismic, snow load and wind load . Outdoor walk-ins come in a variety of metal finish options.

Outdoor walk-ins from KPS Global are an ideal solution to maximize your cold storage space, and with the help of the expert designers and engineers at KPS Global, these walk-ins will meet building code specs.

Pump House Enclosures and Utility Electrical Substations

We utilize KPSG insulated panel systems to produce fire protection pump houses, water supply and water disposal pump houses to protect valuable electrical parts that require a temperature-controlled environment. We offer several roof and metal finish options to better adapt and withstand environmental condition like snow, wind and seismic activity in the particular area in which the enclosure stands.

We utilize the same systems to manufacture utility and electrical substations, where they house valuable and vital equipment and are equipped with the appropriate accessories like HVAC, roof hatches and windows as needed. Our panels are recommended for these applications due to their insulated properties that can maintain the desired temperature to keep the equipment from freezing or overheating while creating a safe haven for the equipment to be enclosed in.

Non-Traditional Walk-In Coolers

Accessible Cold Environment (ACE®)

ACE is an innovative solution by KPS Global ideal for loading and accessing perishable goods quickly and efficiently. ACE makes storing products simple and effortless. This unit improves labor efficiencies and reduces preparation and pick time for eCommerce or Online Grocery Pick-up (OGP) where fast-moving refrigerated products are needed. ACE is a three-sided cooler designed with a unique vertical lift door system, which allows users to load the cooler with a pallet jack while staying cool. The unit maintains a temperature of 40°F, without a solid door, using triple air curtain technology.

Restore Solutions

KPS Global has a dedicated department to provide replacement walk-in parts and aftermarket services to extend the life of your walk-in coolers and freezers by restoring the exterior and interior appearance along with the performance and function of the unit. We offer replacement parts like electrical, gaskets, jamb guards and replacement walk-in doors to service minor upgrades and walk-in needs.

Our in-house field operations customer service team offers remodel services to extend the life of your walk-in by using batten strips and thermal liner panels using KPSG certified installers, along with full turnkey services if additional trades are required like refrigeration and electrical.

INSTAWALL®

INSTAWALL uses cam-lock panels to provide an innovative alternative to traditional construction methods. INSTAWALL condenses interior construction timelines due to its ease of installation and reduction of trades needed on-site. This is an ideal solution for retail spaces, offices, optical centers, pharmacies, warehouses and more applications.
