One Way KPS Global Delivers Superior Quality Walk-Ins: Moisture Level Indicator Labels

KPS Global® is dedicated to ensuring we deliver superior quality walk-ins for our customers. Once our panels have been manufactured, they are palletized and wrapped with our in-house orbital wrapper and sealed onto a pallet. When the panels are wrapped, if exposed to unintended outdoor elements, which could cause humidity and negatively affect the metals they are compressed into. If the panels encounter excessive humidity or moisture, it compromises the integrity of the material. In efforts to maximize the quality of our walk-ins, we utilize Moisture Level Indicator Labels. A label is placed on all manufactured panel pallets, and if the material is exposed to moisture there is a circular ink dot that bleeds on the label.

What are moisture level indicator labels?

A moisture level indicator communicates if the protected materials encounter humidity, water or rain that could potentially damage the quality of the contents. Moisture level indicator labels were founded and utilized in World War ΙΙ to ensure weapons and ammunition received overseas were intact and not exposed to extreme levels of humidity. If a sealed product reveals an ink spot on its moisture level indicator label it would show that the integrity of the product has been compromised. Integrating this technology into the KPS Global manufacturing process is another way to ensure the highest quality walk-in.

How does a moisture level indicator label work?

A moisture level indicator label is integrated with a chemical ink and when a certain amount of moisture meets the label it will begin bleeding ink to indicate that it has been exposed to enough humidity to impact the product. The dark spot on the label is made up of moisture-sensitive chemicals; the chemical reacts to changes in the level of humidity, which causes the ink to bleed. The displaced ink dot is a clear indication to the end user that the moisture level in the sealed package is at a level at which is affecting the component inside. You can find a moisture indicator label on the left or right side opening of a KPSG packaged pallet.

Why Does KPS Utilize Moisture Level Indicator Labels?

This label provides a clear and proactive indication to customers, general contractors or project managers the material has not been exposed to humidity levels, ensuring the quality and integrity of the panels can be maintained effectively. This labeling system communicates peace of mind that KPSG manufactured panels have not been exposed to compromising moisture levels during shipment. Our goal is to ensure quality delivery of the panels systems for KPS Global walk-in coolers and freezers.
