As KPS Global® looks back on 2017, we want to take a moment to acknowledge the rich history that brought us to this point. In 1887, New Jersey grocery store owner C.V. Hill built a dairy box to better refrigerate perishable. In1947, Charles Needham began building walk-in coolers at home in his garage. Nine years later, he expanded his business and purchased a plot of land. After many decades of innovation and industry growth, as well as several mergers and acquisitions, the KPS Global you know today formed in 2015. KPS Global is poised for growth in 2018 with new leadership in place, as well as additional sales managers and manufacturer’s representative groups.
The company named industry veteran, Mike Eakins, as the Chief Executive Officer at KPS Global. Mike joined KPS in October 2017 from Hillphoenix, where he served as the Vice President and General Manager of the AMS and INTL divisions. Prior to his role at Hillphoenix, Mike was the Vice President of the international division for Kysor.
KPS Global also welcomed Patrick Rogers and Ron Smith as its newest Regional Sales Managers as well as established several new relationships with rep groups around the nation. Applied Sales, Inc., for example, will manage five states for KPS Global: Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. H.E. Myers & Associates, Inc. will manage Delaware, Maryland, Eastern Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington D.C. as well as North Central and Western New York State and Southern New Jersey. Swanson & Associates will manage Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada. AMF Refrigerated Products, Inc. will cover Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont as well as Northern New Jersey and New York City.
The other big theme in 2017 for KPSG was new investments in all three of our plants. We are very proud to operate half a million square feet in three state-of-the-art manufacturing and warehousing facilities. KPS Group made a significant investment to upgrade our Fort Worth facility with new equipment and reset the manufacturing floor for a more efficient flow. A ribbon cutting on January 26th celebrated KPS Global’s newest facility in Goodyear, Arizona. KPS Global invested more than $2.3 million in the Goodyear facility. In May, KPS Global recognized the completion of a renovation and expansion of its Piney Flats, TN facility. The company has invested more than $1 million in the Tennessee facility, which increased in size by over 70,000 square feet and press capacity by 50%. The additional square footage and new equipment positions KPS Global to meet customer demand and ultimately reinforces our access to customers regardless of their location.
