Small Business Saturday is held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to encourage consumers to “shop local” during the busy holiday season. At KPS Global, we consider small businesses essential to the economy and support them through our extensive dealer network.
Small Business Saturday Offers a Number of Benefits
Small Business Saturday is a relatively new holiday, first observed in the US on November 27, 2010. Black Friday tends to belong to big-box retailers and Cyber Monday to e-commerce, so Small Business Saturday was created to encourage holiday shoppers to visit small, local brick-and-mortar stores. Shoppers are encouraged to use the social media hashtag #SmallBusinessSaturday to highlight their favorite local businesses, create awareness and encourage their friends to shop locally. And all those small businesses add up to some big money. According to the Small Business Administration, there are 28.8 million small businesses in the US, comprising 99.7% of businesses in the country. In addition, the 2010 Census estimated 120 million individuals are employed by small businesses. When consumers support small businesses, they help keep money in their local community, give their friends and neighbors gainful employment and support the US economy as a whole.
KPS Global Supports Small Businesses through Our Dealer Network
KPS Global has a lot of experience in supplying small businesses in the US with walk-in coolers, freezers and all the related components needed to need to keep their operations running smoothly and successfully. One way we help is through the support offered by our extensive dealer network. KPSG sells to dealers who then provide solutions and top-notch service to our customers. These dealers are often small businesses themselves, who have the necessary expertise to complete a project in their particular region. They can also help small business owners identify best practices and navigate the pitfalls they might run into when purchasing or installing a walk-in cooler or walk-in freezer.
KPS Global is Proud to Work with MELT, a Small Business Success Story
Melt Ice Creams is one small business success story that KPS Global is proud to have played a part in. In 2016, Mark Seher and his wife opened an ice cream shop in the Magnolia district, one of the most eclectic areas in Fort Worth, Texas. When it came time to expand, the husband-and-wife team decided to build a centralized kitchen to handle the manufacturing and distribution that would allow them to open a series of smaller retail locations and local restaurant menus. Because of the performance and durability of the existing KPS Global cooler in its current retail location, Melt ultimately turned to KPSG for help with its expansion. Melt was impressed with the seamless experience of working with KPS Global and its dealer. “KPSG and Mike Thayer at Manufacturer’s Direct handled everything – design, manufacturing and installation – making my life easier on the path to purchase,” stated Mark. “In addition, we were continually impressed with the responsiveness and knowledge of everyone we encountered.” You can learn more about the Melt Ice Creams story in this brief video.
