In honor of Women in Manufacturing week we are excited to be highlighting a few outstanding women that make up the KPS Global team. Our final featured employee is Misty Tate, a Materials Manager who has been in the walk-in industry for 20 years. Misty has been with the company through mergers and acquisitions in many different departments. She began her career as a receptionist, but moved into several roles such as sales, shipping, production scheduling, purchasing, human recourses and landing in her current role as Material Manager.
Being able to learn about so many different areas within the company like materials, sales, purchasing and shipping has helped her to truly understand the product and equipped her to excel in materials management. Her knowledge has been furthered by her tenure, experiencing changes both within the company and in the cooler and freezer industry.
Misty’s greatest success as a KPS Global employee has been her ability to take on a variety of new roles effectively, applying her knowledge to each new position. These opportunities have made her truly appreciate working for the company, because employees are able to grow through internal promoting practices.
Misty is proud to be a part of a hard-working team that has gained her utmost respect. Many of her team members started with KPS Global in the plant, and she has been able to encourage them to grow in their careers. She has noticed this pattern throughout her time with the company. People want to stay at KPS Global, grow and move up the ladder.
As a Materials Manager, Misty makes a significant contribution and impact. Her knowledge and expertise allow her to supply information to guide vendors, salespeople, teammates and customers. Not only can she utilize her technical knowledge of the product, but she has developed many relationships within the insulated panel industry that she is able to leverage day-to-day. She pairs this with her dedication, open-mindedness to new ideas, and care for her fellow employees to leave a mark on the company.
