KPS Global Steel Manufacturing Process
One of the most common metals used for the construction of insulated panels is steel. KPS Global utilizes high-quality steel sourced from our trusted partners. How is this steel manufactured? This metal starts at a cold mill where the metal is reduced to the proper thickness. Then, it is hot dipped to get its metallic coating. During this step is when the steel can be galvanized by submerging it in molten zinc, which protects the panel from rusting. The steel sheets are prepared for their final application by applying a formulated backer to the bottom side. This backer has foam and glue adhesion properties. The top side of the sheet receives a finish coat, which consists of a primer and the desired color, and can be baked onto the metal directly.
Steel Finish Options for Walk-in Coolers and Freezers
KPS Global offers several finishes for this steel. Panels can be made with aluminum zinc oxide coated steel or stainless steel and may have a diamond tread or mesa profile applied to the metal. In addition, this metal can be finished with a smooth or embossed texture. KPS Global also offers 22, 24 and 26ga metal thicknesses. Other materials are also available including aluminum and FRP (Fiber-Reinforced Plastic).
