FORT WORTH, TEXAS – June 22, 2021 – KPS Global has been named to Food Logistics’ 2021 Top Green Providers list for its conversion from the use of hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) to hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) blowing agents in its insulated polyurethane panels in all five of its U.S. manufacturing facilities.
Food Logistics’ annual Top Green Providers list recognizes companies whose exemplary leadership, products, or services are enhancing sustainability within the cold food and beverage industry.

These blowing agents are a more environmentally friendly alternative to HFCs because they have zero ozone depletion potential and low global warming potential. In contrast, HFCs are man-made chemicals primarily used in air conditioning, refrigeration and foam insulation. They are powerful greenhouse gases that can be thousands of times more potent than carbon dioxide in contributing to climate change.
